Construction Equipment magazine has named Perkins’ Tier 4 Final 400F diesel engine as one its Top 100 New Products for 2011.
Conducted annually for the last 30 years, the Construction Equipment
Top 100 New Products Award evaluation draws on the expertise of the
publication staff to select the best advanced technologies, new product
lines, significantly improved existing products and products that
increase competition in their field.
Established to recognise the most significant new products announced
each year, the CE Top 100 New Products Award program emphasizes
innovation. It highlights manufacturers who invest in research and
development that benefits equipment users in the form of greater
productivity, efficiency and safety.
Launched at ConExpo in Las Vegas 2011,the Perkins 400F is the latest
addition to the company’s popular 400 Series. It is Perkins’ first
engine to meet Tier 4 Final / Stage IIIB regulations which come into
force in January 2013 in the EPA for engines above 19kW (25 hp) and in
the EU above 37kW (49.5 hp).
“With more than a million engines sold and two billion ‘first life’
hours under its belt, the 400 Series can be described as a ‘world’
engine, having earned a reputation for reliability, performance and
value for money,” said Allister Dennis, Perkins product marketing
manager. “The introduction of the 400F means that builders of small,
high performance, cost effective machines will have a Tier 4 Final /
Stage IIIB compliant engine available that requires little or no
re-design.”
